Seeking a experienced, honest and reliable Relief Milker, that has excellent stock skills and management.   You must pass criminal and drug checks and be physically fit to be considered for the role. You must also have a full clean driving license and willing to work in a fast-paced environment. As a Relief Milker you are expected to work alongside the Farm Manager and other staff in: - milk harvesting - maintaining the cleanliness of the cow shed - operating and maintenance of effluent system - monitoring pasture, crop, and supplement management - monitoring stock feed - diagnosing animal ailments and conducting treatments - assisting in the erection and maintenance of fence. A good attitude and understanding of the day to day work on the farm is a must. You must be proactive at work. Must be eligible to work in New Zealand.  Pre-employment drug test is required.

We are looking for a drive in relief milker to join our team. Our herd manager will be taking maternity leave at the end of the year and we are looking for a relief staff member who would like to gain more experience on farm while she is away! We are milking 500 fresian cows in a 40 a/s herringbone . Located near Arapuni. The job would require twice a day milkings. We are looking for someone dedicated, responsible with reliable transportation and a lack of excuses. We are a fun young team and love to have a laugh and reach our goals. There is plenty of work available for an employee outside of milkings if looking to gain more hours during the day on farm. This position would need at least 1 year experience milking in a herringbone. Due to unforeseen circumstances we are looking for someone to join us on our Dairy Farm near Morrinsville. We are milking 300 crossbred cows on 107ha 15 minutes North of Morrinsville. We have a brand new 30 aside herringbone cowshed with automatic cup removers and auto yard wash. There is a tidy 3 bedroom home available. The farm is grass based with grass and grass silage as the main feeds so this is a great place to learn excellent pasture management. We do about 110,000kgMS per year and typically go OAD in January each year. We aim for best practice in every area especially cow health, incalf rates, SCC and youngstock rearing. Milking 740 through 60 bale rotary.  Lead with Pride accredited so expecting candidate to be as engaged as us with this. Strictly drug and smoke free. Four permanent staff plus relief milkers, all pitching in to do the job. Must be passionate about farming and learning to be their best.  Must have previous dairy farm experience as farm assistant. NZ resident/citizens only please. The candidate should enjoy day to day tasks such as milking and be observant and able to spot the abnormal (e.g. lameness/mastitis). Right now, NZ is in the thick of calving – and we won't sugar-coat it, it's very, very busy on our family farm!  We need someone who can start immediately and can 'handle the jandal' of long hours and get stuck in until things ease up in late September. That said, we've held firm to our brilliant 6/3 roster even through the madness of calving, because work-life balance matters to us, busy season or not! Once calving calms down, our cows get milked twice a day – but our humans only milk once a day! That's the trade-off:  we know it's full-on right now, so to help fuel our team through it, we put on a month of hot cooked breakfasts, plus you'll get at least an hour's break for lunch every day.
