We have an exciting opportunity available for a dairy assistant across our 2 neighboring 560 cow dairy farms 5 minutes from Balclutha.  In this role you will spend half your roster rotation at one farm and the other half at the other, covering other team members rostered days off.  This role is an entry level position with room to progress in your career, you will have supportive employers that want to see you go forward in the industry. Daily tasks include  Getting cows in  Weed Spraying  Milking  Setting up break fences  There is a modern 1 bedroom home available with a heat pump.  You must have a minimum of 6 months experience on a dairy farm and be eligible to work in NZ. No visa sponsorship available.  

We are looking for the Dairy Farm Assistant for  700 cows through 50 bail rotary . Someone who is reliable, enthusiastic, honest and has excellent work ethic and time management. This position will work alongside the Contract Milker and Herd Manager. Farm Tasks include  Milking: Assists in efficient and hygienic milking routine. Follows procedure to produce high quality milk. Animals: Assists in the safe handling of animals, reports any health and welfare issues as per farm policy. Feed: Controls weeds. Sets break fences and feeds out as directed. Effluent:  Understands how the effluent system operates and shifts irrigator correctly. Machine, Vehicles and Technology: Safely drives and maintains vehicles on farm as directed by on farm policy. Must be able to ride any 2 wheeler and quad bikes. Apply with CV with references.
