We are on the hunt for a calf rearer to join our team to assist with the coming season, rearing 250 replacements and the remainder being bobby calves, we need someone with good attention to detail and a good understanding of calf health. you will be working closely with the on farm team. We have exceptional facilities and systems in place, with open minds to new ideas. a good sense of humour is a must, along with punctuality and physical fitness. hours and roster are negotiable, there could be milkings available if required once calf rearing hours decrease.

The Calf Rearer is responsible for the daily care, feeding, and welfare of calves on the farm. This role supports the farm team by ensuring calves are healthy, well-fed, clean, and kept in a safe environment. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare and feed milk, milk replacer, water, and calf feed according to farm instructions. Clean calf pens, feeding equipment, buckets, and work areas to maintain high hygiene standards. Monitor calves daily for signs of sickness, injury, stress, or poor feeding. Report any health or welfare concerns to the supervisor or farm manager immediately. Assist with moving, handling, tagging, weighing, or separating calves when required. Maintain accurate records of feeding, treatments, deaths, and other calf-related information where required. Follow all animal welfare, biosecurity, and farm health and safety procedures. We are looking for an experienced calf rearer to help us grow our future super stars! We rear 600 calves and it does get very busy. Because animal welfare is a priority, we are looking someone with great attention to detail who doesn't cut corners and can detect issues before they become a problem. To be successful in this role you will need to be a patient and empathetic person, be able to drive a tractor and already have the right to work in nz (we will not transfer visas as this is a short term casual position).  This is a drive in position. We are located 10 minutes drive from Cambridge. 

We are looking for a drive in Calf Rearer/Relief milker for this current season 2026, from July til September with possible on-going work with Relief Milking throughout the year. Must have good experience in calf rearing, 1 farm has 200 and the 2nd farm has 260 spring calving cows. A good hourly rate offered depending on experience, must have reference and live in New Zealand in our area, we are not an accredited employer.
