We’re looking for an enthusiastic and reliable calf rearer to join our team for the upcoming calving season on our 650-cow dairy farm, located in Dacre (just 20 minutes from Invercargill). This is a sole calf rearer role, with regular support from the herd owner to help ensure workloads are manageable. Weekend work is covered by the herd owner or can be negotiated. Experienced Calf Rearer required, 4km North of Gore on Waimea Hwy. Rearing 300 replacements & selling 4 day old beef calves. You would be working with another to help reduce workload for a good work environment. This job starts beginning of Aug and runs until the end of September. Excellent purpose built calf sheds with underground milk line from dairy shed. Understanding of best practice animal health and growing good quality stock a must. We are a large-scale dairy farm just outside of Mossburn, Northern Southland.  We are looking for 2 calf rearers to join our team for the upcoming season starting 25th of July and finishing end of September / early October (exact dates are negotiable). This job would ideally suit a couple or 2 friends. Roster is 6/1 or 6/2 depending on the time of the season.  Ideally some experience of caring for animals or working on a farm is preferred but not essential. The key attributes we are looking for is stamina and grit, a great attitude to work, easy to get along with, happy to get their hands dirty (literally), patience, awareness of health and safety, genuine care and consideration for animals and a sense of humour. Conversational English is also required. We use large equipment so you will need to learn how to drive 4 wheelers, a large truck, tow trailers and operate pumps.
