Looking for a calf rearer to assist us over calving (1 July - 15 October). Will need to be confident and capable. Previous experience is preferred but the position can easily be learnt by someone willing. This position will involve rearing approximately 200 calves (milk, meal, hay and water) plus feeding bobbies. Will mostly be working autonomously, however there will be experienced staff nearby if help is needed. Could lead to more work on farm for the right person.

Our farm milks 1,000 cows on 315 hectares and rears approximately 240 replacement heifers each year. This role involves feeding and caring for calves, monitoring animal health, maintaining clean calf-rearing facilities, and helping ensure calves achieve excellent growth and welfare standards. Looking for an experienced calf rearer for the calving season. This is a drive in position, no accommodation available on farm.  Farm is located 10 minutes from Matamata on the Kaimai range. Close proximity to Morrinsville, Te Poi, Walton and Te Aroha.  Required for 8 weeks from 25th July till the middle of September.  Rearing 130 replacement calves and around 40 beef calves.  Ad-lib milk feeding system.  Good infrastructure.  Roughly 3-3.5 hours in the morning + 1.5-2 hours in the afternoon.  Must be able to work weekends to help cover staff time off. All negotiable.

I am looking for a drive in calf rearer to rear approx 130-140 calves in Eureka, near Morrinsille and Hamilton. Must be experienced and have an eye for detail. There will be bobby calves to feed as well. Have a milk trailer setup with a pump and hose. There will be relief milking available later in the season if wanted also. We require a calf rearer for the spring.  Ideally the applicant will be reliable, strong and able to work in all weathers.  The position could work around school hours, or twice a day, but is seven days a week, for a minimum of eight weeks, to get us through the busy period.   If interested relief milking could also be available over the entire season.   No experience required as full training will be provided.   You must be currently living in New Zealand and eligible to work in New Zealand to apply for this job.
