Alsmere Farm is a 183ha effective milking platform, milking 550 cows through an efficient 36-aside herringbone. The farm operates a hybrid milking system, utilising both twice-a-day (TAD) and once-a-day (OAD) milking, with 30% of the herd OAD for the majority of the season.   We run a predominantly pasture-based system, supported by the strategic use of supplements. Located 2km to Te Awamutu, this 'floating' position will be covering 3 smaller farms of 260, 300 & 150 cows.  Two farms are next to each other and one is a little further away.  The cowsheds are all herringbones from 16-26 a side. This will be a full time position, primarily on the 260 cow farm over calving, then covering the Farm Managers RDO's and other work over the 3 farms.  The position is stated 'fixed term' but will be until 31 May 2027.  We are seeking an experienced farmer with the right skills & ability to join our various farm teams.  Having great animal husbandry & being quiet & calm with the cows, good tractor experience and all general farm skills are a must, as is having the ability to use initiative, follow instructions, and at times work unspervised.   We are NOT an accredited employer.  As the house is only a 2 bedroom, the position will only suit a single, a couple, or a couple with 1 or 2 small children.  If you are living in NZ and are a...
