800 Kiwi-cross cows at peak, producing 425,000 + KgMS.
Farm Details:
Total farm area is 271 ha of which 242 ha is the effective milking platform with excess land used on the shoulders of the season to extend the round length.
Dairy Shed - 44 bail rotary with cup removers, auto teat dip and in shed meal feeding. There is a woodchip calving pad close to the milking shed for spring.
Cows are wintered off farm in Mossburn and are feed daily by the contract milker's team. Shared accommodation is available in the area.
The dairy farm is well located with very fertile soils on the Lorne Dacre Highway, 15 minutes from Invercargill.
Accommodation:
Main House: Three bedrooms plus office and garage. 2IC House: Four bedroom with garage. Third House: Two Bedroom plus office and garage. Fourth House: Three bedroom house plus garage. All houses are regularly maintained, are insulated to industry standards & have either heat pumps or fires for heating.
