Programme Manager - deliver NZ's only dedicated dairy management graduate programme.

$38.00 - $45.00 hourly

Job Description

Are you an organised, proactive person who enjoys bringing people together and making things happen? Do you have strong relationship management skills and an interest in helping develop the next generation of New Zealand dairy industry leaders?

The Grassroots Dairy Graduate Trust is looking for a Programme Manager to lead the coordination and delivery of our established Graduate Programme.

Run by farmers, for future farmers, the Grassroots Dairy Management Graduate Programme connects motivated university graduates with leading Canterbury dairy farmers and rural professionals, providing practical learning opportunities, industry connections and a pathway towards dairy business leadership and ownership.

About the role

Working alongside our dedicated volunteers and industry supporters, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day management and successful delivery of the Programme.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Programme management: Planning, coordinating and delivering the annual Graduate Programme, including learning modules, events and meetings.

  • Recruitment: Managing the recruitment and selection processes for Graduates and participating farm employers.

  • Relationship management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with Graduates, employers, alumni, sponsors and industry professionals.

  • Communications and marketing: Managing Programme communications, website content, social media and promotional activities.

  • Administration and reporting: Coordinating Trust meetings, preparing reports, maintaining records and supporting effective Programme governance.

  • Programme development: Working with our volunteers to identify opportunities to strengthen and grow the Programme.

Working arrangements

This is a part-time role of approximately 16 hours per week, with flexibility around when the work is completed. With this being a new role to the Programme, it will initially be a fixed term contract for approximately one year.l

You'll primarily work independently, with the opportunity to work from home, while being available to attend meetings and events in Ashburton and the surrounding Canterbury area.

The role offers the opportunity to work closely with a passionate group of farmers and rural professionals who are committed to developing the future leaders of New Zealand's dairy industry.

About you

We're looking for someone who is self-motivated, organised and confident taking ownership of a varied role.

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and confidence working with a wide range of people.

  • Experience in programme or event coordination, administration, recruitment or relationship management.

  • Initiative, attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

  • Confidence using digital tools, including Microsoft Office, websites and social media.

  • An understanding of, or genuine interest in, the New Zealand dairy industry.

Experience in the dairy industry would be an advantage, but is not essential. We're equally interested in finding someone with the right skills, attitude and enthusiasm to contribute to the Programme's ongoing success. However you must already be based in NZ and have right to work to be eligible to be considered.

Interested?

We'd love to hear from you!
