Job Description

Contract Milker Wintering 300 Cows

We are looking for a contract milker commencing 1 June 2027 for our clients 93 Hectare (effective area) dairy farm at Kennington, 5 minutes from Invercargill. The current contract milkers have done a fantastic job and are going to concentrate on one job. Previously they looked after this job and the neighbouring farm for 4 seasons. The farm owner owns 2 farms neighbouring each other.  

The farm offers:

  • Good quality 3 bedroom home.
  • 24 aside Herringbone Cow Shed with Grain Feeding system.
  • Redpath barns.
  • Supportive owner and management team.
  • Production has ranged from 137 – 147,000 kgms from 285 cows over the last 5 seasons.

Ideally we are looking for a high calibre operator who is:

  • A good communicator and a people-person;
  • Clean, tidy and organised on farm;
  • Patient, positive, trustworthy and self-motivated;
  • Has excellent references;
  • Has high environmental standards;
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of pasture management and be open to advice from relevant professionals;
