We are seeking a skilled and motivated Herd Manager to join our dairy farming team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in dairy farming, minimum 1 year farming experience on a New Zealand dairy farm and strong practical skills.
Key Responsibilities
Daily milking and dairy hygiene
Monitoring and maintaining animal health
Assisting with calving and reproduction tasks
Pasture and feed management
Effluent system operation and environmental compliance
Machinery and vehicle operation
Supporting junior staff and contributing to a positive team culture
Minimum Requirements
Minimum one year experience on a New Zealand dairy farm
Strong understanding of NZ dairy systems and animal welfare standards
Ability to work independently and follow farm procedures
Good communication skills and reliability
Must pass a pre‑employment drug test
