We have a great opportunity for a progressive and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Herd Manager. Our farm is situated at Walton, 10 minutes’ drive from Matamata and 15 from Morrinsville. We milk 1100 cows through a 50 bale rotary shed complete with automatic cup removers, drafting gate and in shed meal feeder. The system we run is predominantly grass based with feed used on the shoulders of the season. This opportunity would best be suited to an individual looking to learn and develop in the dairy industry who has a desire to improve on their current farming skills and practises as well. Through references we require proven attributes in time management, common sense and a good adaptable attitude to work. A high standard of cleanliness for both the cow shed and provided accommodation will also be a must. At least two full season’s farming experience is required for this position. The successful applicant will be working alongside 4 other experienced full time staff members who have worked for us for a number of years. There will be given plenty of opportunity to progress in all aspects of dairy farming. We run an 6 on 2 off roster and are accredited employers. |
