Lower-Order Sharemilking Opportunity – 580 Cows – South Taranaki

Job Description

An exciting opportunity available for a motivated and experienced lower-order sharemilker or sharemilking couple on our established 580-cow dairy farm in South Taranaki.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has excellent stockmanship and pasture management skills, and is keen to take ownership of the day-to-day running of a successful dairy operation. Just as importantly, we're looking for someone with a positive attitude, who is easy to get along with, communicates well and values a good working relationship.

About the farm

  • 580-cow dairy operation in South Taranaki

  • 80 bale Rotary cowshed

  • Halter technology

  • Protrack
  • Established farm with good infrastructure and systems

  • Supportive, hands-on farm owners

What makes this opportunity different?

The farm owners will retain responsibility for calf rearing and effluent management, allowing the sharemilker to focus on milk production, pasture management and the efficient running of the farm.

We believe in giving the right person the freedom to make decisions, manage their team and benefit from running an efficient operation.

The owners will remain involved in their own areas of responsibility and are happy to provide support when required, while respecting the sharemilker's independence.

  • Is honest, reliable and hardworking

  • Has strong animal health and pasture management skills

  • Takes initiative and can work independently

  • Has good staff management and communication skills

  • Understands the importance of running a profitable business

  • Has a positive attitude and takes pride in the farm

Previous lower-order sharemilking experience would be an advantage, although we would also consider a capable farm manager ready to take the next step.
