Job Description

Farm Assistant position available in Dorie.

While we are ideally looking for a permanent full time staff, we would also consider a short/fixed term or contract position.

We are looking for a farm assistant for our team to start on the 15th of October or ASAP.

We are looking for someone with at least 1-2 years experience  as you will have to hit the ground running. With mating, its a busy time to join the team, so if you are a fast learner, this will be an ideal fit.

About the farm

  • The farm has had Halter on the 760 Friesian cows for the last four years. This has really helped with wintering on crops, mating, break feeding and bringing the cows to the milking shed.
  • We are aiming to produce 530MS/cow this year
  • We have three different types of irrigation -Pivot, Lateral and Rotorainers

About the area

  • Dorie School and Preschool are excellent.  Property is on the primary school bus route
  • High school in Ashburton about 25 km

  • Milking cows
  • Moving rotorainers
  • Spraying weeds
  • Setting up paddocks
