We are a family owned and operated dairy farm 5 minutes from Piopio township in the King Country, milking 600 kiwi cross cows through a 40 bail rotary. We milk twice-a-day during spring, transitioning to a 14 in 7 milking system in summer. The shed has automatic cup removers, automatic teat sprayer and drafting gates. We have collars on the cows that monitor their health and heats.
We are looking for a permanent full-time Farm Assistant. We are flexible with the start date, although the house will be available from the 16th November.
You will work alongside myself, our experienced long-term 2IC and farm assistant. You will be involved in milking, shifting stock, weed spraying, effluent spreading, maintenance, cleaning and other general farm jobs.
We run a 18 days on and 3 days off roster and can usually work it so someone has a later start each morning. A three bedroom, one bathroom house is available in Piopio.
This position would suit a reliable, hard working enthusiastic individual moving through or looking to get into the dairy industry.
