We are looking for a reliable and hard-working dairy farm assistant to join our team in Oamaru, North Otago. The farm is one of two we operate and is located 15 minutes from Oamaru. This is a hands on role suited for someone who loves animals, enjoys the outdoors and wants to grow their skills in the dairy industry. We peak milk 420 cows through a 40 aside herringbone with ACRs and Halter
Role will include:
Milking cows with efficient, clean and safe routines
Moving Kline irrigation
Stock work and animal care
General farm duties
Assisting at times on our neighbouring farm which milks 700 cows through a 54 bail rotary with ACRs and Sensehub
About You:
We are looking for someone who is passionate about Dairy Farming, loves a challenge, has a positive attitude, works well in a team and will pull their weight
Some dairy farm experience is preferred
MUST be LIVING in New Zealand and be legally able to work in New Zealand
Hold at least a restricted Drivers Licence
Be willing to work as part of a team as well as independently
Show initiative and a willingness to learn
Be confident and responsible operating quad bikes
Be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

1100 cow sharemilking business, 54-bale rotary, 40-aside herringbone. Both have just been upgraded with cup removers, protrack and in-shed feeding.
Rolling to steep contour with some flat paddocks. Currently irrigated with kline, we are about to install 2x pivots and replace the rest with fixed grid over the next 2 years
