To assist in milking and complete day-to-day tasks with guidance from the Farm Owner and/or Assistant Manager. Have an interest in farming and is willing to learn and grow in the industry.
Have experience in dairy farming, be reliable, have a positive attitude, be tidy and clean in the workplace and most of all, have great communication skills.
You will be milking 500 cows split into two herds through a 30 a/s herringbone shed with automatic cup removers and teat sprayer. We operate a system 4 spring-calving dairy farm. There is in-shed feeding and cows are fed on a feed pad nine months of the year, so would be beneficial to have tractor skills. There is an automatic drafting system and the cows are fitted with Allflex collars.
Complete basic farm duties such as milking, feeding out, shifting irrigator, and scraping pad. Be able to ride a 2-wheel motorbike and operate a tractor.
The farm is located in Korakonui district, 10 mins to Te Awamutu and Otorohanga, with a flat to rolling contour.
