We’re looking for an experienced and reliable Farm Assistant to join our team on a large-scale dairy operation milking 1,100 cows through a 50-bale rotary shed.
This role would suit someone with 2–3+ years’ dairy farming experience who is confident working independently, takes pride in their work, and is keen to be part of a hardworking, supportive team.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Milking and general cowshed duties
Bringing cows to and from the shed
Feeding out and confident tractor operation
Setting up, shifting and maintaining K-Line irrigation
Identifying and assisting with sick, lame or injured stock
General stock work and animal health
Fencing and general farm maintenance
Assisting with other day-to-day farm operations as required
We’re looking for someone who:
Has at least 2–3 years of practical NZ dairy farming experience
Is capable and confident milking cows
Is competent operating tractors and feeding out
Has practical experience with K-Line irrigation
Has good stockmanship and animal welfare standards
Is reliable, honest and has a strong work ethic
Can work both independently and as part of a team
Communicates well and takes responsibility for their work
Holds a current driver licence
Is able to pass a pre-employment drug test
