Farm Assistant - Intensive Dairy Goat Operation
An exciting opportunity is available for a motivated and enthusiastic Farm Assistant to join a well-established intensive dairy goat operation located near Shannon in the Horowhenua.
This role is ideal for someone who has a genuine interest in dairy goats, enjoys working with livestock, and is looking to develop their farming career within a progressive dairy goat business.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with daily milking operations
- Rearing and caring for kid goats
- Monitoring animal health and welfare
- Feeding and stock management
- Maintaining excellent shed hygiene and cleanliness standards
- Cleaning and maintaining farm equipment and facilities
- Following farm health, safety, and biosecurity procedures
- Supporting all aspects of the day-to-day farm operation
What We're Looking For
- Motivated, enthusiastic, and reliable individual
- Genuine interest in dairy goats and animal welfare
- Previous livestock farming experience is advantageous
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Good attention to detail and time management skills
- Current driver's licence essential.

Employment Requirements
- Clear criminal record
- Must be drug-free
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Willingness to comply with ongoing workplace health and safety policies
- No pets permitted on the farm due to farm policy
What's On Offer
- $28.00 per hour
- Minimum guaranteed 30 hours per week
- Roster: 5 days on, 2 days off, then 6 days on, 1 day off
- Share accommodation available
- Supportive team environment
