About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and reliable 2IC (Second in Charge) to join our farming operation managing a large-scale herd of 1,200 cows. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven dairy professional looking to step up and work alongside a supportive management team.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting the Farm Manager with day-to-day operations and staff supervision.
Overseeing animal health, breeding programs, and general herd management.
Operating and maintaining farm machinery and infrastructure.
Ensuring high standards of milk quality, animal welfare, and environmental compliance.
Assisting with pasture management, feed allocation, and irrigation.
What We Are Looking For
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of proven experience in herd management.
Qualifications: Relevant agricultural certificates or formal training.
Communication: Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Compliance: Must be able to pass a hair follicle drug test (zero-tolerance policy for drug use).
Work Ethic: A proactive attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well within a team.
