We are looking for an experienced, motivated and hands-on 2IC or Farm Manager to join our dairy goat operation milking approximately 850 goats through an 80-bale rotary shed.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with animals, machinery and people, and who takes pride in keeping a farm running efficiently and to a high standard.
Working alongside the Herd Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the farm, including:
Milking and overseeing the milking operation
Feeding and caring for the goat herd
Animal health and welfare
Effluent management
Machinery operation and maintenance
General farm and property maintenance
Keeping the farm, sheds and work areas clean, tidy and well organised
Supporting the Herd Manager with the wider day-to-day management of the farm
Working as part of a team and helping ensure tasks are completed efficiently and safely
We are looking for someone who:
Has previous dairy farming or livestock experience
Is confident working around goats and livestock
Works efficiently and has excellent time management
Takes pride in doing a job properly
Has a genuine care for animals and the people around them
Is a good communicator and works well with others
Is reliable, practical and willing to get stuck in
Takes pride in maintaining a tidy, organised workplace
Is confident with machinery and general farm maintenance
Can work independently and use initiative when required
Has a positive attitude and is keen to be part of a good team
This is a well-presented, well-maintained dairy goat farm with a modern 80-bale rotary milking shed and a herd of approximately 850 goats.
The position includes a comfortable four-bedroom house with attractive grounds, making it well suited to someone looking for a live-in farm role.
Roster: 11 days on / 3 days off.

Kaimai Farms operates two dairy goat farms at Manawaru.
The two farms are 50Ha and 90Ha, milking approx. 900 and 1100 goats this season.
The smaller farm has an 80 bale rotary milking shed and the larger farm a 90 bale rotary milking shed.
The goats are housed in a large barn adjacent to each milking shed. The farm is located at Manawaru (15 mins from Matamata, 10 mins from Te Aroha and 20 mins from Morrinsville).
