We are a high producing 700 cow farm set on 245Ha of stunning countryside just a couple of minutes’ drive to Tuatapere and about 50 mins to Invercargill. We consider ourselves to be good employers due to the fact that our current herd manager has been with us for 5 years, however due to family reasons this person is now leaving us, so we have some big shoes to fill.
Having spent 16 years now in the dairy industry we know what it takes to be successful, so we are seeking someone who will have the same outlook as us. We work hard, but we also ensure that everyone has a healthy work/life balance, we work well as a team, we communicate and we get the job done. Our cows are in excellent health, and we intend to keep them that way, so you must possess strong animal husbandry skills, be able to work unsupervised, and you must have strong initiative, if you see something that needs doing, then do it, if you break something, tell someone, its simple really. We are more than happy to train the right person, but you must be willing to learn and be serious about growing a career in the dairy industry. We do encourage AGITO training. Being able to drive a tractor will be an advantage.
