Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 6 months of New Zealand dairy farming experience specifically covering the calving to mating period.
- Legal Status: Must be a New Zealand resident or citizen.
- Licence: Clean Class 1 full driver’s licence (or equivalent).
- Skills: Confident riding 2-wheeler and 4-wheeler motorbikes.
- Attributes: Strong initiative, willing to learn, and able to work both in a team and unsupervised.
- Screening: Must be drug-free (requires passing pre-employment and random seasonal drug tests).
- Lifestyle: Strictly non-smoker and no pets allowed on site.
- Application: Updated CV, cover letter, and at least 2 contactable referees.
Key Responsibilities
- Milking & Shed Hygiene: Perform milking duties and maintain strict cleanliness to ensure high-quality milk production.
- Animal Health: Detect and report health issues (e.g., mastitis, lameness), assist with treatments, and accurately record data.
- Farm Tech & Fencing: Use Halter technology to assist with break fencing, shifting stock, and daily tasks.
- Calf Rearing: Assist with seasonal calf rearing duties.
- Machinery & Tools: Safely operate and maintain tractors, farm machinery, and tools.
- Effluent & Irrigation: Set up and record data for the travelling irrigator to ensure compliance.
- Maintenance: Undertake weed control and general farm maintenance.
