Farm Assistant

We are looking for a reliable, motivated, and practical Farm Assistant to join our dairy farming team.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is comfortable working outdoors and enjoys working with animals. 

What we are looking for

The successful applicant will ideally have:

•  Current dairy farming work experience and/or agricultural qualifications or course
• Experience milking cows and a good understanding of animal husbandry
• A good nature and a genuine interest in working with animals
• The ability to ride and safely operate two- and four-wheeler motorbikes 
• The ability to carry out a range of daily farm tasks including: setting up beak fences, 
• The ability to carry out a range of daily farm tasks, including setting up beak fences, animal health treatment and accurate recording, moving and setting up effluent and irrigation, general dairy farm daily duties and maintenance 
• the ability to safely undertake the physical requirements of the role
• good time management and the ability to work independtely
• punctuality, reliability and strong work ethic
• the ability to work positively as part of a team
• a commitment to following farm health and safety policies and procdures
• the ability to communicate effectively in English for day-to-day farm operations,  keeping animal health, and following instructions. 

The Role

This is a hands-on dairy farming position. The successful applicant must be comfortable working weekends and outdoors in all weather conditions.

You will be expected to contribute to the day-to-day running of the farm.

This position is shared accommodation with another staff member.

We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours a week with a maximum of 55 hours per week.
