We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Farm Manager to join our team milking 480 cows in Otorohanga. The job will include the following responsibilities
Milking & Animal Health
- Assist with and lead daily milking operations
- Monitor herd health, identify sick or injured animals, treat as required
- Assist with calving, mating, and herd reproduction programs
- Maintain accurate animal health and treatment records
Farm Operations
- Support pasture management, including grazing plans, feed allocation, and supplements
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment safely
- Assist with effluent management, weed spraying, mowing, feeding out.
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in dairy farming (NZ experience)
- Proven competence in milking, animal health, and pasture management
- Ability to lead by example and work independently when required
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills
- Able to operate a 2-wheeler, quad bike and tractor
