We are a family-operated dairy farm milking 700 cows through two 40ashb sheds with ACRs, automatic teat spraying, protract drafting and in-shed feeding. Halter recently put on. Mixture of permanent and part time/relief staff. 260ha operation with pivot irrigation and some k-lines. You would be primarily in charge of the sheds alongside the owner. We are looking for a genuine person with a good work ethic who can use their initiative and work independently. We also appreciate someone with a good sense of humour who is honest, reliable, and respectful of their home. Must have experience farming in NZ and be capable of sole charge in owner’s absence. Duties include all usual activities involved in day to day running of a dairy farm: management of milking shed, staff and pasture, animal husbandry, tractor work, fencing, other general maintenance as required. Sole charge when owner is away. Please note milkings are required for this position.
