A farm assistant is required to efficiently milk a 540-pedigree jersey cow herd in a 60-bail rotary shed based in the Riverton area. Applicants must have a proven good work ethic, be physically fit, enjoy the challenging outdoor environment and have a positive attitude! Must also be able to provide recent work references in the farming industry.
Duties include but are not limited to: • Bringing cows and calves in. • Milking cows. • Hosing out and cleaning cowshed and yards; putting wash through the cowshed plant. • Putting up and taking down electric fences and general farm fencing. • Feeding calves. • Shifting effluent pod system. • Fixing water leaks and setting up portable troughs. • Simple tractor work. • Shifting cows on crop in winter. • Yarding and treating animals with drench.
Must be able to work:
• Friday to Tuesday (up to 5am to 5.30pm - 1 hr breakfast and 1 hour lunch breaks) 6:2 roster over calving.
• Have a full driver’s license and be skilled motorbike rider.
• Single accommodation (no dogs allowed inside houses).
• MOJ and PEDT check required.

155ha main dairy platform, gently rolling with good lanes and excellent pasture quality. Adjacent runoff (55ha) and a second runoff (55ha) just up the road. 60 bail rotary with ACRs, auto teat spray and ProTrack, and all cows wear SenseHub collars.
