Ready for the next paddock? Experienced 2IC/Assistant Farm Manager - GORE
An exciting opportunity has come up for an experienced, motivated dairy farmer to join our team in a key leadership role. Our current Assistant Farm Manager is relocating unexpectedly following a change in personal circumstances, so we are looking for a capable person to step in and join our amazing team. We know this is a busy time of year, so we are ready to talk with the right person about a start date that works for everyone.
This is a hands-on 2IC/Assistant Farm Manager role on an 800 cow, system 3 dairy farm, located just 15 minutes from Gore. You will work as part of a team of five and play an important role in keeping farm operations running smoothly.
You will be an excellent communicator who is confident in taking responsibility, supporting team members, and stepping up to run a safe, efficient day-to-day operation in the Farm Manager's absence. This role will suit someone who enjoys being involved across all aspects of dairy farming.
The farm features a 50 bale rotary shed with ACR’s, Protrack automation, and Allflex collars.

7/1, 3/3 Roster (7 days on, 1 day off, 3 days on, 3 days off). This is every 2nd Monday off and every 2nd Fri/Sat/Sun off)

The ideal candidate will:
Have proven dairy-farming experience, with a minimum of 3 years experience.
Have strong skills in animal health and wellbeing, milk production and quality and understand health and safety standards.
Support feeding programmes and pasture management including weed control.
Be able to lead farm staff in the Farm Manager’s absence.
Carry out general farm maintenance and maintain accurate farm records.
Show confidence and experience in tractor driving.
Hold a full New Zealand driver licence and have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
