We have an exciting opportunity for a farm assistant on an 1250 cow farm located 10 minutes from Geraldine.
About the farm: 1250 cows 54 bale rotary, in shed feeding, ACR Irrigation through pivots and guns. Flat contour Accommodation supplied on farm is a 3 bedroom home. The attributes ideally required for this position: • Work well in a team • Physically able to carry out the job • Have the desire to succeed in the industry • Most importantly the successful applicant must be honest, reliable, good communication skills and motivated We are looking for someone with drive, passion and aiming for the top, that is willing to work with us to achieve top quality results. Guaranteed 35 hours per week. Job description/tasks required: -Milking: Assists in efficient and hygienic milking routine. Follows procedure to produce high quality milk. -Animals: Assists in the safe handling of animals, reports any health and welfare issues as per farm policy. -Feed: Controls weeds. Sets break fences and feeds out as direct -Environment: Assists with nutrient, effluent and water management as directed by farm policy. -People: Works well with others, building a strong team culture. -Machine, Vehicles and Technology: Safely uses and maintains vehicles on farm as directed by on farm policy. -Health, safety and wellbeing: Involved in building a health, safety and wellbeing culture. Models farms health, safety and wellbeing policy.
