We are looking for a full time farm assistant with part time work for partner to join us on a 550 cow dairy farm located in Maruia. Half the cows will be milked OAD and with the other half on TAD through a 40 bale rotary with ACRs and inshed feeding. There is a run off attached to the dairy farm used for young stock and wintering.
The farm is located in Maruia Valley bordering the Buller/Tasman districts. There is great hunting and fishing in the area.
The successful applicants should have some prior dairy farming experience, ideally but not limited to, a minimum of 1-2 years New Zealand dairy farm experience, have the ability to work unsupervised, have tractor driving experience and good stockmanship.
We have a strong emphasis on Animal Welfare and Health & Safety.
We are looking for someone with a good attitude, can follow instructions, works well in a team, who is punctual with a willingness to learn.
It is preferable that the applicant has good tractor driving skills. We do our own cultivating, drilling, fertilizing, rolling etc.
Duties include but are not limited to milking, feeding stock in accordance with allocation, feeding out, general calving duties, animal health, weed control, fencing and general farm duties.
8 on 2 off, 8 on 3 off roster. Salary based on experience. Start date to be negotiated.

The successful applicants must be drug free and willing to participate in pre-employment drug testing and random drug testing if required.
