Farm Assistant – Dairy Farm
We are looking for a dedicated, experienced, and motivated Farm Assistant to join our thriving dairy operation.
Our progressive farm milks 750 cows through a modern 50-bale rotary shed, featuring in-shed feeding, Protrack, and automatic drafting systems. The operation also includes a purpose-built feed pad, Halter technology, and a 300-cow composting herd home, providing an efficient, well-equipped and forward-thinking working environment.

About the Role
As Farm Assistant, you will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the farm, working as part of a team to ensure the herd is well cared for and the farm operates efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Milking cows and maintaining consistently high milk quality standards
- Monitoring and maintaining animal health and welfare
- Assisting with pasture management and day-to-day farm operations
- Operating farm machinery safely and efficiently
- Carrying out general farm maintenance
- Maintaining accurate farm records and following established systems
- Identifying issues and using sound problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Contributing to the overall productivity and performance of the herd
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has at least 2 years' dairy farming experience
- Is confident and competent in all aspects of milking, including plant operation and hygiene
- Has a strong understanding of milk quality management
- Demonstrates excellent stockmanship and attention to detail
- Has good communication skills and works well as part of a team
- Is committed to accurate record keeping and following farm systems
- Has a positive, can-do attitude and is adaptable and willing to learn
- Is reliable, motivated and takes pride in their work
- Is safety-conscious and takes care when operating machinery and equipment
What We Offer
- Salary: $60,000–$70,000 per annum, including accommodation
- 11 days on / 3 days off roster
