Hi team we have just recently had our staff member decide to move on to a family farm. This this has created a great opportunity in short notice for an individual or couple to join the team leading into the 1st August 2026-2027 season and beyond. The farm is a family farm with myself in an owner operator system. We are a team focused family farm with opportunities to progress and grow, this is a high achieving, happy and healthy minded workplace We have 440 cows on farm producing over 600 milk solids per cow with great infrastructure. The farm is near Foxton (Manawatu) and has an excellent infrastructure: 36 aside herring bone with a smooth flowing automatic teat spraying cow shed. In shed feeding is used in conjunction with grass/maize silage and PKE in the paddock as required, running on a system 5 basis.
This is a well-structured farm with very good policies, procedures and guidelines in place. Percy Farms are currently seeking employment of an Assistant manager / 2IC or an experienced dairy assistant. Two years experience in the dairy industry is desirable. There is also opportunity for couples with relief work available all season This is a great opportunity to progress your knowledge in a high input system on a pasture first basis. You will be given a range of responsibility from shed management to collecting pasture data and having input into day to day management decisions. We are looking for candidates who have proven experience in shed management, animal health detection and treatment, pasture management and machinery operation and have a good understanding around all aspects of the day to day operations. There are great working conditions centered around a strong Health and Safety work environment. Run on a 12 on 2 off roster and a 6 on 1 off roster over calving. A tidy three-bedroom home on farm is also available. An extra hand is also employed over the busy calving and mating period to reduce work load through the busy periods. (3 people/Day July-Nov).
