We are looking for a reliable, motivated and experienced 2IC to join our dairy farming team, located just 12 minutes from Taupō, commencing September 2026.
About the Farm
● Approximately 650 cows
● Herd managed using Halter technology
● Modern 50 AS Herringbone dairy shed with ACR and Protrack drafting
● In-shed feeding system
● Warm modern 3-bedroom on-farm accommodation with garaging
● Progressive farming operation with a focus on efficient herd and pasture management
The Role - Working closely with the Farm Manager, you will be involved across all areas of the dairy operation, including:
● Milking and day-to-day herd management
● Using Halter for herd movement, monitoring and grazing management
● Animal health and welfare
● Pasture and grazing management
● Calving and mating
● Feeding and supplementary feed, including in-shed feeding
● Tractor and machinery operation
● Effluent management and general farm maintenance
● Helping organise daily jobs and supporting the wider team
● Taking responsibility when the Farm Manager is away
You - We are looking for someone who:
● Has previous New Zealand dairy farming experience
● Is confident working with a large dairy herd
● Is comfortable using technology or keen to learn Halter, and competent in dairy farm recording systems
● Is reliable, honest and takes pride in their work
● Has good communication and time-management skills
● Can work independently and as part of a team
● Is confident taking responsibility and making day-to-day decisions
● Has good tractor and machinery skills
● Holds a current NZ driver licence
