Dairy Farm Assistant

About the Role

Badsha Farming Limited is seeking a reliable and hardworking Dairy Farm Assistant to join our dairy farming operation in Waikato. This is a permanent full-time role supporting the day-to-day operations of a busy dairy farm with approximately 400 peak cows.

The successful applicant will work as part of a team and assist with general dairy farming duties to maintain efficient farm operations and animal welfare standards.

Key Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Milking cows and maintaining milking hygiene standards
• Assisting with feeding and supplement distribution
• Setting up and shifting break fences
• Monitoring animal health and reporting any illness or injury promptly
• Checking and maintaining water troughs and farm infrastructure
• Weed spraying and grubbing
• Assisting with effluent management
• Moving and operating sprinklers and irrigation equipment
• Operating 2-wheelers and quad bikes safely
• General farm maintenance and cleaning duties
• Assisting the Farm Manager with daily farm operations

Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants should:

• Be physically fit and capable of performing manual outdoor work
• Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Be honest, reliable, and able to work within a team environment
• Have good communication skills
• Be confident riding 2-wheelers and quad bikes
• Be willing to undergo random drug testing under the farm’s drug-free workplace policy

Previous dairy farming experience of atleast 1 year is mandatory, required training may be provided to suitable candidates.
