Energetic and experienced tractor driver

Gladfield is a people first 650 ha agriculture operation based in Dunsandel.

We are looking for an energetic and experienced tractor driver to be part of our young team.    

We run a very tidy well-maintained farm with our own workshop and mechanic.

A wide range of tractor work and machine operation is available from, Cultivation, Bailage, Mowing, Crop spraying, Harvesting, Loader work and Truck driving.

The role

You will work closely with other team leaders to ensure that important operations are carried out on time and operate all farm machinery carrying out daily and seasonal routines including:

• Cultivation, Seeding, Mowing, Bailing, Irrigation, Spraying, Fertiliser spreading, Harvesting, Cartage

• Work with Crop agronomist to manage crop husbandry

• Trouble shoot daily issues and come up with solutions to keep things moving

• Maintain records where required

• Carry out every day general maintenance and servicing of equipment.

• 650 ha Arable Cropping, Dairy support, and Dairy platform

• Large grain handling facility

• Fully irrigated with 5 Pivots, Fix grid, Rotor Rainers, Turbo Rainers and Hard hose guns.

• Located just 10 minutes from Dunsandel and within easy reach of Rolleston and Christchurch, Schools shops, Rivers, Hunting, Fishing, and Young Farmers Nearby.  

You’ll Bring

• 3+ years tractor driving experience

• Experience with GPS guidance systems Trimble, Agleader  

• Knowledge of CVT transmissions

• Basic mathematics and calculating skills

• Good mechanical mind

• Strong work ethic with ability to change gears with out being told.

• Good communication and organisation skills

• Good record keeping

• Team mentality
