We are looking for someone to join our team in the next few weeks
Our farm has been running with 3 full time staff with support from relief staff but as we move into the next chapter in our farming operations we believe we have room for 1 more full time member.
Our farm is located 10 minutes from Ashburton township. Split over two blocks we run at peak 700 mainly freisan cross bred cows. As a mostly self contained unit we tend to our young stock throughout the year and winter our own cows.
Our cows are at the heart of our operation. Our successful applicant must have a genuine love for these animals.
We run a 6 and 2 roster over calving and are looking to move to a 6 and 2, 6 and 3 roster after calving.
A bit about our farm
We are looking for someone who is honest and is a team player- we all work together. Someone who can listen! And ask questions if they are not sure- there is no silly questions. Has a good sense of humor and a doesn't mind the odd dad/mum joke! Must be physically fit and enjoys being outdoors.
Within our team you will be well supported in your role. With being a self contained unit there is always something different to be done but we are a dairy farm so milking cows is still apart of the job.
General farm duties as below
Accommodation is available with this position. 3 bedroom warm sunny modern home. School bus to the gate. Normal tenancy agreements apply.
Ideally some NZ farming experience would be preferred but full training will be given.
MUST be Drug free and in NZ- we are not accredited employers.
