We are seeking reliable, attentive, and enthusiastic Calf Rearers to join our team for the upcoming calving season. If you enjoy working with livestock, have a keen eye for detail, and don't mind getting your hands dirty, we want to hear from you.
This role is critical to the success of our season, ensuring our next generation of stock gets the absolute best start in life.
Feeding & Nutrition: Prepare, mix, and distribute milk, colostrum, meal, and clean water to calves daily.
Animal Health & Welfare: Monitor calf health closely, identifying, treating, and reporting any signs of illness or distress early.
Shed Hygiene: Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the calf sheds, including bedding management and washing out feeding equipment.
Stock Handling: Safely and calmly move calves between paddocks and sheds.
Record Keeping: Keep accurate daily records of treatments, feedings, and animal movements.
Prior experience in calf rearing or livestock handling is preferred, but a great attitude and willingness to learn are essential.
Excellent observation skills—being able to spot a sick calf early is vital.
A calm, patient, and caring approach to animal handling.
Punctual, honest, and capable of working well both in a team and independently.
Physically fit, as the role involves heavy lifting (bags of milk powder, feeding equipment) and plenty of walking.
