We are seeking a full-time machinery operator to join us.
We are a family run agricultural contracting business who provide a range of services for our clients around the South Otago region. These include; digger services, hedge cutting, carting of materials using tractors and trailers and our trucks, and also two silage harvesting gangs throughout silage season. We also perform majority of our own maintenance within our own workshop and provide help on our surrounding family farm. It will be a diverse position with the opportunity to experience and become skilled in various roles and tasks.
The successful applicant will have the following:
· Drivers license
· Class 4 license or the willingness to gain one
· At least 1 years’ experience with operating heavy machinery such as tractors, trucks, silage harvesters, mowers and diggers
· At least 2 references showing they have such experience
· Ability to work alone and within a team environment
· Willingness to upskill and develop within the company
· The ability to perform basic maintenance on machinery/vehicles
· A good knowledge of silage harvesters and their upkeep
We have on-farm, shared accommodation if needed and reward based on skill level. There will be a starting wage of $30/hour with review within the first year.
