Grow Agri Limited is seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, and hardworking Farm Assistant to join our team on the renowned Trewithen Faull Farms at Tikorangi, Taranaki.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a high-performing farming operation, working across a 1,500-cow split-calving dairy farm operating under a System 5 production system.

As a proud Fonterra supplier, we are passionate about producing high-quality milk while maintaining excellent animal welfare, environmental stewardship, and farm presentation. Our farm is regularly showcased to visitors, including local primary and secondary school groups, as well as Fonterra representatives and international buyers of Fonterra products. We take great pride in maintaining a professional, welcoming farming operation that reflects the high standards of our business.

Our Farm

We are equipped with modern facilities and technology, including:

• 60-bale rotary cowshed
• Allflex cow collar technology
• In-shed feeding system
• Feed pad

• Well-maintained equipment and infrastructure

Position Details

• Full-time permanent position
• 6 days on, 2 days off roster
• Competitive remuneration based on experience
• Employment will be under a Federated Farmers New Zealand employment agreement, providing clear, fair, and industry-recognised employment terms and conditions.

Duties Include

• Milking
• Tractor operation and feed-out
• Fencing
• General farm maintenance
• Spraying
• Effluent irrigation
• Assisting with the day-to-day operation of the farm
• Monitoring stock health and assisting with animal treatments

About You

The successful applicant will:

• Have a minimum of 2 years’ dairy farming experience, including milking.
• Be confident and competent operating tractors and feeding out.
• Demonstrate excellent animal husbandry, with a genuine commitment to animal welfare.
• Be confident identifying common animal health issues and capable of carrying out treatments safely and effectively.
• Hold a current Full New Zealand Class 1 Driver Licence.
• Be able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Have a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and take pride in their work.
• Be reliable, honest, and motivated to contribute to a high-performing farming business.
• Be drug-free and willing to undergo pre-employment and random drug testing.
• Be a New Zealand citizen or hold a New Zealand Resident Visa.
