Due to unexpected family circumstances our 2IC is moving on so we are now looking for someone to assist on our 350-cow dairy farm, near Tokomaru, 15 minutes south of Palmerston North. We have a 25-aside herringbone shed with ACRs, and the farm is a system 5 with feedpad and mixer wagon. We use SmaXtec cow monitoring system.
We are looking for someone who
· has a minimum of 2 full seasons NZ dairy experience
· is motivated & reliable
· has excellent communication skills
· is capable of managing the daily operations in the farm owner’s absence
· is mature and capable of working with younger staff
· is careful & responsible operating machinery, competent driving tractors, loading & feeding out supplements and riding a 2-wheel motorbike
· has good knowledge of animal health, dairy shed hygiene, pasture management, effluent management and health & safety
A 5-bedroom house with double garage is available (no dogs).
Two primary schools nearby and bus to Palmerston North secondary schools from Tokomaru.
No smoking or vaping anywhere on farm. Drug-free workplace.
