We require a motivated, honest and reliable farm assistant or Herd Manager for the 26/27 season to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working with animals and wants to be part of a supportive and hard working team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Milking and maintaining high standards in the cowshed
- Ensuring a consistently low SCC and maintaining a grade-free milk supply
- Keeping accurate cowshed and herd records
- Operating tractors and farm machinery safely and efficiently
- Spraying and moving irrigators
- Monitoring animal health with a strong attention to detail
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and hygienic working environment
Skills & Experience
- We are looking for someone who is a positive team player, attitude is very important to us. a positive team player who enjoys working with their peers
- Good stockmanship and a quiet manner
- Ability to follow our farm systems as well as being able to problem solve
- willingness to learn and to continually improve
- Ability to manage your time and work independently
- Someone with at least 2 years experience
We Milk 400 cows at peak through a 32 aside herringbone, the farm is well established and runs an easy system 3 operation with great infrastructure.
We also have a full time milking role available for a partner or family member.
