Job Description

We require a motivated, honest and reliable farm assistant or Herd Manager for the 26/27 season to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working with animals and wants to be part of a supportive and hard working team environment. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Milking and maintaining high standards in the cowshed
  • Ensuring a consistently low SCC and maintaining a grade-free milk supply
  • Keeping accurate cowshed and herd records
  • Operating tractors and farm machinery safely and efficiently
  • Spraying and moving irrigators
  • Monitoring animal health with a strong attention to detail
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and hygienic working environment 

Skills & Experience

  • We are looking for someone who is a positive team player, attitude is very important to us. a positive team player who enjoys working with their peers
  • Good stockmanship and a quiet manner
  • Ability to follow our farm systems as well as being able to problem solve
  • willingness to learn and to continually improve
  • Ability to manage your time and work independently 
  • Someone with at least 2 years experience 

We Milk 400 cows at peak through a 32 aside herringbone, the farm is well established and runs an easy system 3 operation with great infrastructure.

We also have a full time milking role available for a partner or family member.
