Douglas Farms is seeking a motivated and committed Farm Assistant to join our progressive dairy operation based in Kaitaia. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a supportive, well-established team focused on high standards of animal care, farm performance, and workplace culture.
Our farm milks 2,200 cows across two adjoining farms — a 54-bale and a 70- bale rotary sheds.
The proposed start date is from 13th July 2026, however flexibility is available for the right applicant.
Roster
The role operates on a double rotation roster:
This provides a three-day weekend every third weekend and five days off across each three-week cycle.
Accommodation
Not currently available, must be able to drive in.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Farm Manager, you will work alongside a capable and collaborative team assisting with the day-to-day operations of the farm. Responsibilities will include:
