About the Farm:
We milk Peak milk 560 cows through a 38-a-side herringbone shed with ACRs. The farm is right beside the Invercargill Airport and only 3 km from the CBD.
Weâre moving toward System 4 next season with in-shed feeding completed last May Infrastructure includes two wintering barns (one doubling as a 500-cow feed pad)Â
About the Role:
As 2IC, youâll work alongside the sharemilkers and be responsible for key day-to-day operations, including:
Milking and shed hygiene (plant wash, ACRs, teat spraying)
Pasture allocation and grass management
Feeding out and tractor operation
Effluent system management and maintenance
Fencing, weed control, and general farm maintenance
Record keeping and assisting with farm planning
đ Training and support will be provided as required, making this a great opportunity for someone looking to grow their skills or step up in responsibility.
What Weâre Looking For:
Previous Herd Manager or Senior Farm Assistant experience preferred
Confident with stock handling and animal health
Good understanding of grass management and feed allocation
Competent tractor operator
Capable fencer and general practical skills
Reliable, positive attitude, and strong attention to detail

About the Farm:
We milk 480 cows through a 38-a-side herringbone shed with ACRs. The farm is right beside the Invercargill Airport and only 3 km from the CBD.
We’re a fully self-contained operation, currently running a System 2–3, moving toward System 4 next season with in-shed feeding.
Infrastructure includes two wintering barns (one doubling as a 500-cow feed pad) and plans to install auto teat spraying.
About the Role:
As Herd Manager, you’ll work alongside the sharemilkers and be responsible for key day-to-day operations, including:
Milking and shed hygiene (plant wash, ACRs, teat spraying)
Pasture allocation and grass management
Feeding out and tractor operation
Effluent system management and maintenance
Young stock management (all reared on-farm)
Fencing, weed control, and general farm maintenance
Record keeping and assisting with farm planning
