Broadview Farming Ltd is seeking a reliable and motivated Calf Rearer to join our team for the upcoming calving season from Mid August to Early November.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with animals, takes pride in maintaining high animal welfare standards, and can work independently while being part of a supportive farm team.

About the Farm

We are a progressive beef and dairy grazing operation rearing approximately 400 calves each season, consisting of a mixture of Friesian bull calves and beef cross calves. These calves come in to our system at 5-10 days of age. Our goal is to give every calf the best possible start through excellent feeding, animal husbandry, and health management practices.

The Role

You will working as part of a 2 person team to spread the load of 400 calves.

Key responsibilities will also include:

• Feeding and caring for newborn calves
• Monitoring calf health and wellbeing
• Mixing and preparing milk and supplements
• Identifying and treating sick calves in consultation with management
• Recording calf numbers and treatments
• Cleaning and maintaining calf sheds, feeding equipment, and calf rearing areas
• Ensuring high standards of animal welfare and hygiene
• Assisting with other farm duties when required
