We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Dairy Assistant to join our small team on a newly converted 120ha farm for the 2026/27 season and beyond.
We aim to milk 350–370 cows through a 40-bale rotary with ACRs, Protrack, in-shed feeding, and irrigation. A support block 5km away is used for wintering and young stock.
The farm is located 40 minutes inland from Timaru and 15 minutes from Fairlie, in the beautiful Mackenzie district, offering a great lifestyle with lakes, mountains, and outdoor recreation nearby.
A tidy 4-bedroom home is available, with a school bus for both primary and secondary schools stopping at the gate.

Key Duties:
- Milking in a 40-bale rotary
- Treating lame/sick cows
- Setting up and shifting breaks
- Tractor work, feeding out
- General farm work
- Assist with animal health to young stock
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum 2 years NZ dairy farming experience
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Able to work independently and in a team
- Good attention to detail and pride in their work
- Aspires to progress in the dairy industry
- Full driver’s licence
- Must be in NZ and able to attend an interview
- Police check required
