After 3 seasons our awesome herd manager has been offered his next career step which has open an opportunity on our K Road Farm.

This farm and team are all about learning.

You will learn the how or maybe your already know that, but more importantly you will be taught the ‘why’. You will be coached and mentored from the basics, like the most efficient way to milk to how to interview for your next role!

Standards are high and hard work and great attitude are rewarded.

About the farm:

K Road farm is located on the stunning shores of Lake Taupo’s western bays approx. 20 min from Turangi. Milking 1250 cows, it runs a low input, fully self-contained system with a focus on pasture and plantain. This farm is well set up, with an easy flat contour.

Excellent primary schooling is available locally with the school bus stopping at the farm gate. A three-bedroom family home with extensive views is available to the successful candidate.

This role will also appeal to those who have interests away from the farm in hunting, fishing, skiing and a host of other outdoor pursuits.

Duties include (but not limited to)

  • Milking
  • Pasture and Feed Management
  • Animal Management
  • Farm Maintenance / Effluent
  • Health and safety
  • Record Keeping

What we need from you:

  • Preferably 2-3 years of on farm experience or other relevant experience
  • Proven communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Be physically fit
  • Able to provide an updated CV with verifiable referees
