About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Herd manager to join our dairy farm team on a fixed-term basis to support operations during the busy calving period. This is a hands-on role requiring experiance in dairy farm jobs, excellent stockmanship, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
You will work closely with the Farm Manager to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, with a strong focus on animal welfare, team coordination, and productivity during calving.
We milk through 40 bail rotery ACR Protrac and Auto teat spray
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Farm Manager in daily farm operations
- support staff in milking routines and general farm duties
- Manage calving operations, including:
- Monitoring cows pre- and post-calving
- Assisting difficult calvings when required
- Ensuring proper tagging, recording, and care of newborn calves
- Maintain accurate farm records (e.g., calving, treatments, production)
- Identify and treat animal health issues promptly
- Ensure all health & safety procedures are followed
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience to treat Milk fever cow
- Expeience with machinery, Tractor driving and feed out
- Identify calving cow and calf from springer mob.
- Can deduct Mastitis and treat
- Experiance to Milk colostrum cow.
