Herd Manager/2ic
We are on the look out for a skilled and dedicated herd manager with the goal of becoming 2ic, to join our team this 26/27 season starting June.
NOT ACCREDITED EMPLOYERS must be nz citizen or nz resident
must be available for an in person interview.
We milk all year round, milking 250 cows over June/July.
Calving 150 in February, 100 in May and 600 in July/August.
Farm is located 10 minutes from Tapanui, 25 minutes to Gore.
Shed is a 54 bale rotary with ACR’s and smart wash.
Cows wintered in Wintering barn on farm and on support blocks nearby
Accommodation is a new cozy house
Good and tidy farm infrastructure.
6 and 1 over calving
5 and 2 rest of season
Key responsibilities will include:
-Assisting with all aspects of the dairy farm including Milking, feeding, general farm maintenance and cow health.
-Be confident but careful on a 4 wheeler.
-Be comfortable with basic shed maintenance and keeping it clean and tidy. -Being capable and confident in tractor work is preferable, further training can be provided to the right applicant.
We’re looking for someone with a minimum of 2 years dairy farming experience, salary will be experience based.
Must be trustworthy, take pride in your job and have a passion for dairy farming with a goal to grow in the industry.
