We are seeking a motivated and reliable person to join us and our 2IC milking 500 quiet crossbred cows through an older but efficient 32 bale rotary shed located mid-way between Whitianga and Coromandel towns. This is a fixed term role for the lactation only July to April. We are having to re-advertise due to previously successful candidate changing their mind about taking the role on.
This has traditionally been a 2 person farm utilizing calf rearers and relief milkers but we are transitioning to a model that will largely use 3 full-time labour units to achieve seasonal outcomes instead. We can be very flexible with how this role is structured so welcome applications from a range of experience levels and circumstances.
The main duties will be getting cows in, AM and PM milkings, Shed clean-up and Hygiene and some general farm clean-up and weed control. We would also ideally like someone capable and interested in managing some or all of the calf rearing so please let us know in your application if you are able to do this.
Accommodation at this stage is negotiable depending on the applicant. We would prefer a drive in worker for now but could potentially offer either single furnished self contained accommodation or could arrange a 3 bedroom family home for the right candidate.
