Due to unforeseen circumstances We are looking for a 2ic to work with us on 148ha farm, milking 460 cows  through 32 bail rotary. Can start as soon as possible

We are looking for;

•  Someone that has a keen eye for feeding cows and looking after them as their own.
• A self-motivated person that is keen to learn, not afraid to ask questions and bring new ideas.
• Organisation is a must, knowing how to prioritise is key in this farming operation as will step up and take the reins in our absence.
• Tractor experience would be great advantage, but will be more than happy to teach
• We have 60 ha k-line takes about 2 and half hours to move daily over summer period 
• You must be physically fit 
• Clean criminal records 
• Random drug test

As a 2ic , you are expected to work alongside the contract milkers to perform the following duties:

• Ensuring the effective operation of all aspects of the milking process, including plant hygiene and somatic cell count to maintain grade free standard
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the shed 
• Responsible for assisting the Contract Milkers to implement best practice management of pasture, crop and supplement
• Responsible for developing and maintaining an understanding of regulations and requirements for management of nutrients, effluent and water supply
• Responsible for all health records of the animals and farm plant records and following the health and safety guidelines 
• Assist with calving and calf rearing program to achieve minimal losses and ensure high quality replacements for herd 
• undertake other duties as required 
• Must have a clean Driver's license 
• No pets are allowed in the accommodation 
• Smoking is not allowed at home 
• House checks are required every 3 months
