Due to one of our team member's moving on, we require an honest, trustworthy, reliable and punctual team member to join our current team at Castlerock in Northern Southland. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years experience or a level 4 qualification or above. The candidate will not be afraid to get their hands dirty and must be physically fit. They must adhere to our company Health & Safety policies and procedures and be willing to undertake random drug testing. They must have the necessary visa to work in New Zealand. The successful candidate will work as part of our team to manage and assist with all aspects of farming: milking, animal health management, treating animals, getting cows in and locking away, weed control, putting up and taking down temporary fences, calf rearing, assist with calving. pasture management and other general farm duties.
A willingness to learn is paramount. We encourage AgIto training. Min 30 hours, Rate is based on experience $30 - $35 Roster is 6 on 2 off Aug/Sept then 8 on 2 off/8 on 3 off for the remainder of the season.
Milking 1250 crossbred cows through a 70 bale rotary westfalia plant with automatic cup removers and automatic teat spray. Flat to rolling contour land located at Castlerock in Northern Southland. 1 hour drive from Queenstown, Gore and Invercargill. Local preschool and primary school in Mossburn, only 10 kilometres away and secondary school in Lumsden 10 kilometres away. Both primary and secondary school buses at gate.
